I had written this post in the beginning of April, but somehow forgot about it. So here it is now, before April is up!
April is the Month of the Military Child. Not only am I raising a military child, but my husband was also a military child, as well as my soon-to-be sister-in-law. Although Sadie is too young to realize the sacrifice she is making, I am so proud to call her a military brat:-) Steve got to see her for 4 weeks before he deployed. When we returns in a couple of months, it will be "Surprise! We have a 10 month old!" I know it may take her time to warm up to him, as well as for him to warm up to her, but I know that Steve is going to be the best daddy. I cannot wait to see them together. Every night, as part of our bedtime routine, we say goodnight to daddy(a picture we have framed in her nursery). Steve also built her a bear before he left with his voice recorded inside. I play this each night as well. Then give her a kiss from her daddy. Over the past couple of weeks, Sadie has started to reach her hand out to touch her daddy's face in the photo. It touch's my heart:-)
Added: Last night as we were saying "Goodnight" to Daddy, we started to walk back toward the crib and in a soft voice, Sadie whispered "dadada." Talk about melting your heart!
