We have been busy around here preparing for our Disney World trip! We leave Wednesday and return Sunday. We are staying at the wonderful Shades of Green and the little girl in me is SO excited! I am excited not only for myself, but to see the excitement on Sadie's face. It has also been quite a while since Steve has been and none of us have been to Animal Kingdom. Sadie loves animal and their sounds right now, so I am very excited about this!
In the meantime, I have been busy making lists and buying trinkets to take with us! After reading blog after blog full of tips on taking a toddler to Disney world and what to pack, here are a few things I have found:
Stroller: We decided to bring our smaller umbrella stroller. At the aquarium, Sadie wanted to walk everywhere, so I'm sure she won't be in the stroller all the time, but it will be a great place to put things and have when she wants to rest. We have a cup holder attachment and plan on keeping a small cooler of drinks underneath. Mom created a large bow out of glitter ribbon to attach to our stroller so we know it is ours.
Backpack: We are using a backpack as Sadie's diaper bag and for anything else we decide to carry. We will put in all in one backpack and take turns carrying it, so there is only one to keep up with.
Disney Toys: Mom and I went a little toy crazy at Target yesterday, but for a fraction of the price they would cost in the park! We bought stickers, coloring books, light up objects, glow bracelets, minnie socks, stuffed animal, etc. Now when Sadie wants something in the park, instead I can pull a new disney object out of the backpack and give it to her! We also got a few items for her to play with in the car to get her excited.
Autograph book: I picked up a small photo album from Target for about $2. It's glitter pink. I am adding white card stock pages instead to tell the difference between the pages. The characters will sign on the clear pages and then after the trip, that character's photo with Sadie will go in the page they signed on! A tip I read was to bring a large Sharpie as it is easier for characters to hold.
Random Items: Dish soap- When you have a lot of Sippy Cups, they need to be washed out!
Power Strip: Great idea for charging items in the room instead of searching for outlets!
Any more tips we should know before our first family trip to Disney World?
