Sadie is more than a toddler. She's a little person. She has opinions, likes, dislikes, and feelings. It's one of the most amazing and entertaining things in life to watch develop. But that doesn't mean it doesn't come with challenges. It does. Oh boy, it does.
We've hit those temper tantrums early. Sadie definitely gets upset when she doesn't get her way or has a hard time communicating what she wants. But we typical ignore it for a few minutes and it goes away. She's still a pretty picky eater but with a lot of work, she is doing a lot better. A post coming on that soon.
I know I say this each time, but she is so smart. I am so impressed each time she shows me that she knows something I wasn't expecting her to know. Here are a few thing she's learned in her short little life as well as her likes and dislikes:
- Can count from 1-10. She can also recognize these numbers. I pretty sure she learned this from watching Dora and Mickey Mouse.
- Is learning shapes. Can identify a square, triangle, circle, and star about 80% of the time.
- Knows all sorts of animal sounds and some of their names. Her favorites are duck, elephant, alligator, and horse.
- Loves to color. She holds her crayons really well.
- Still loves to read. She can look at books All. Day. Long.
- Loves playing at her little kitchen. She has little fruits and veggies and pots and pans and its adorable to see her play with them.
- We have a few animal puzzles and she loves putting the animals in the spots. She's great at it.
- She will repeat almost any word you ask her to say.
She is still a tiny little thing. Fitting in 18 month clothes and size 4 diapers. She has no butt at all and has the hardest time keeping jeans up because of this. Her favorite this is to slide and swing at the park. She is quite to dare devil and I am hoping to put her into a little gymnastics class soon.
