Future Olympian!

Tuesday, I took Sadie to her very first swim lesson. The lessons are held at Swim Atlanta in Hamilton Mill, GA. They have a small kiddie pool that is warm, and it is pretty much a "mommy and me" (or "daddy and me") class. We had so much fun!

Let me begin by saying that Sadie normally gets up between 6am-7am each morning. She choose this morning as the first morning every to sleep until 8am! In fact, I had to go in and wake her up at 8am! She normally takes a nap from 9:00-9:30, so I signed up for the 10:20 class thinking that would be perfect. Well, not today! She didn't take a nap and fell asleep in the car on the way to the lessons about 5 min before we got there. So we went into the lessons with a sleepy little 6 month old!

The Baby and Toddler class was the only one going on during the time frame, which made it nice and quiet in the center. There was 3 other kids in the class- two with their daddy's and 1 with her mommy. (I've decided this is going to be a daddy-daughter thing when Steve gets back). We just hopped on in and Sadie did great! The instructor was impressed that she started kicking right away. The instructor advised to only move her if she kicked and when she stopped kicking to stop moving. There were little toys all over the pool to motivate her.

We also let them float on their backs - which Sadie loved! And "Jump" in off the wall doing "Humpty Dumpty" (Sadie was not a huge fan of this, but I think it was because she was cold sitting on the wall while the pool water was warm.) Overall she did a great job. She started to get tired around 30 min, but lasted the entire 40 min. I can't wait to get her back in the water next week!

Here are a few short video's Gigi took!
