Yes, we did. We have started decorating for Christmas. Our tree is up.
Before you start rolling your eyes, thinking, can't they celebrate Thanksgiving first?!
We had our reasons.
{one} We will be celebrating Thanksgiving out of town at my parent's house. The idea of coming home to a decorated house is just wonderful.
{two} Steve was deployed for Christmas last year and I lived with my parents during that time. It's been two years since we've gotten to decorate a tree or use my fun Christmas china. I think we have waited long enough!
and
{three} I quite frankly could care less about all the Facebook comments reprimanding those who "skip" Thanksgiving and decorate for Christmas early. That's why we all live in our own houses right? If you don't want a taste of the holiday spirit early, don't bother coming to mine! But if you want to dance with a toddler to Jingle Bells in the kitchen, make snicker doodles, watch said toddler be amazed by all the ornaments on the tree, and drink hot coffee while reading Christmas books, then come on over! It's cozy up in here!
Also, do you realize that Christmas is only 30 days away? When you think about it that way, it is totally not too early!
