Suseong Lake Festival

This past Saturday, we ventured out to the Suseong Lake Festival. We didn't know much about it, since this is all that was on the flyer. Just what we heard from word of mouth.

We decided to take a cab there since we didn't know where to park. The cab ride was about 6000 won or around $6. The venue was a decent sized lake with a surrounding park. There was a floating dock with bleacher type chairs. When we walked up, there were Korean singers in traditional Hanbok singing a beautiful song. Sadie had fun listening and looking at the water.

We walked down the lake a little further and came across the main concert stage. The music was more contemporary with dancers in the mix. There were all types of booths set up with food, items for sale, craft stations, and even a traditional Korean tea station. Sadie had a blast dancing to this music.

We continued on and found a great area right outside the park with plenty of restaurants, bars, and coffee shops. We decided to grab a bite to eat at a Grill and Pub we found. It had a large patio out front and the walls to the restaurant were opened up to look out on the porch. We sat in large wicker chairs with pillows. Steve and I decided to order a beer. Little did we know, we ordered two giant beers.

We ordered the pizza that our server told us was the best. It ended up being a Gorgonzola Pizza with honey. Seriously?! Bread, Sauce, Cheese, and Honey? My dream come true. It was delicious. We ate it up so fast that I didn't even get a picture until it was halfway gone. We will be back.

After dinner, we wondered back over to the festival. We saw everyone gathering around for something, so we gathered too. It was a magic show. It was cute and Sadie loved it. We headed back over to listen to more music before catching a cab back home.

It was a great night and definitely one to remember during our time in Korea. I love getting involved in the culture here. We were told that it is currently "Festival Season" so hopefully there will be more to come!
