We did it. We signed the lease on our apartment today. We move in on Thursday and I cannot wait. It will be so nice to finally settle into the place we will be living for the next two years.
At the lease signing, we came across a small bump in the road. Our laundry room is too small to fit both an American washer and American dryer. Fortunately, our Landlords were nice enough to provide us with a Korean washer/dryer combo. It is much smaller and runs on electricity instead of gas; therefore, it can be more expensive to dry clothes. It was worth it to us though, to have an option to dry clothes rather than just a washer in the house. Our only other option was to start over looking for a new apartment. The thought of that made me sick. But we are all set now with a Korean Washer/Dryer combo. There is also a hanging rack in our apartment to hang dry clothes, which I figure is what we will do most of the time. We may also look into getting a laundry service.
In the meantime, our household goods aren't here yet. They should arrive by boat this week and then they have to clear customs. We will be loaning furniture from the Army until they arrive. The army delivers and retrieves it for us.
I can't wait to start decorating and organizing our new place!
