2 Day Refresh Results

It's no secret now that I didn't finish the full 3 Days of the 3 Day Refresh. But I did get a good (mostly) 2 Days in... I only finished out the second day with a Chicken Salad instead of the Vanilla Refresh shake.

So... I still had some pretty great results for two days. Considering I was pretty bloated from all the unhealthy eating I was doing before.. I had pretty much put on a few pounds of water weight.

In those two days... I actually lost 3 lbs and 2 inches off my waist.

I've decided cleanses are NOT for me and I was SO happy to be following my normal 21 Day Fix eating plan today. I feel GREAT.

I wanted to put a disclaimer out... JUST because it didn't work for me, does not mean that it won't work for you. You will never know until you try...

With that said... If you are trying to decide what would be best for you... find me on Facebook or send me an e-mail! I'd love to chat with you more about it and help you find the best plan to fit YOUR life!

Nursing & 21 Day Fix

Let me start out by saying I am not a Doctor. As always, you should consult your Doctor with anything that concerns you, including eating plans while pregnant or nursing.

Now that I got that out of the way, I want to talk about a question that I get often...

Can I do 21 Day Fix (or CIZE or 22 Minutes Hard Corps) while nursing?

Yes. Absolutely. I am currently doing it myself!

The 21 Day Fix eating plan consists of portion control while eating clean, whole, nutritious foods. It in no prohibits you from fueling your body with the correct foods. In fact, you will be fueling it with the RIGHT foods that will in return, make the best milk for your baby!

When nursing, you need to consume an extra 500 calories a day. But that doesn't mean an extra 500 from what you were already eating! It's an extra 500 to your recommended calorie intake.

When starting the 21 Day Fix eating plan, you use your current weight to calculate the Calorie Bracket you belong in. Once you have done this, you will bump up one whole calorie bracket to include those extra 500 calories you need to produce milk.

There are two key things to make sure you don't see a dip in your milk supply.

1. Make sure you eat ALL of your containers. Don't skip any. Make sure you are spreading your containers out throughout the day and eating all of them.

2. Drink a LOT of water. I mean a TON. I aim for at least 100 oz a day. I can always tell a difference in my milk supply if I haven't had enough water.

The next question is always... Can I drink Shakeology while nursing?

Yes again! I drank it my entire pregnancy and continue to fill up on superfoods!

Why wouldn't you want to fuel your body with the best nutrition possible in order to make the best nutrition possible for your baby? It's full of vitamins, vegetables, superfoods, probiotics, and nutrients. It's all natural with no artificial sweeteners and very little caffeine.

Again, the key is to get enough calories. If you drink Shakeology while following the 21 Day Fix meal plan, this won't be a problem!

If you have any reservations about it, print out an ingredient list and take it to your doctor! I'd be happy to e-mail you one!

If you're ready to order, e-mail me today at CoachKaciedeLeon@gmail.com !

Have more questions? Let's talk about it! Find me on Facebook!

When in doubt...

Confession: I doubt myself.

I doubt that I'm strong enough.
I doubt that I'm fast enough.
I doubt that I can stick to a program.
I doubt that I can resist the sweets.
Trust me... I've doubted it all.

But what I've learned is the only person hurting from these doubts is me. I'm not in competition with anyone other than myself.

And if I do one more push-up today than yesterday... Then I'm succeeding.
If I push play today... I'm succeeding.
If I say no to that chocolate chip cookie... Then I'm succeeding. I
f I get my daily superfoods and vitamins in... Then I'm succeeding.

All it takes is one small belief that you CAN do better. And you work up from there. One day at at time, one meal at a time, one workout at a time.

But here's the secret... There's been two things I've done to help me overcome my doubt...

1. I joined a challenge group. The support, positivity, and motivation I receive is unmatchable anywhere else. It makes you wonder why you ever doubted yourself in the first place!

2. I read personal development. This is continuous and has helped me overcome doubt in all aspects of my life. Seriously, pick up a book now.

Seriously, thats the only way I've been able to accomplish what shows in those orange pants below. But it's not just about the pants fitting (with wiggle room!)...

It's the healthier life I leading.
It's the energy I have.
It's the strength I have.
It's the confidence I have.

So if you're a doubter like me...

You doubt that you have the time...
You doubt that you have the money...
You doubt that you have the energy...
You doubt that you can complete a workout...
You doubt that you'll stick with it...

Know this... YOU CAN... And with my help and support... YOU WILL.

You just have to take that first step and believe in yourself!

My next Facebook challenge group starts June 6th! I have only 5 spots for women that want to see how much they can grow and overcome their doubt in just 21 days!!

Claim your spot by May 27. :-) Leave your e-mail below, send me an e-mail at CoachKaciedeLeon@gmail.com, or find me on Facebook to claim your spot!

Blueberry Oat Lactation Muffins

Ya'll, these muffins are delicious! And even approved by my picky 3-year-old daughter.

The best part about them? They are 21 Day Fix Approved!

I don't even feel guilty about eating them.

1 Muffin is 1 Yellow container.

Ryder started sleeping through the night lately, so without the extra nursing sessions, my supply started to take a dip! So, I made these babies to try to boost my supply! So far it's worked! I've actually be eating two with eggs in the morning for breakfast in place of my regular oatmeal, and I've counted it as 1 yellow container.

Enjoy!

xoxo,

Kacie

Dirty 30: a little video

I'm trying something new today. I recorded/edited my first video.

I first tried 21 Day Fix Dirty 30 Workout online while I was waiting for my PiYo in the mail. I immediately fell in LOVE with it and just knew I had to order it after PiYo.

So I thought I'd give you a little taste of what made me choose 21 Day Fix! I modified a couple of the moves since I am pregnant and used an exercise ball instead of lying flat on my back.

I also have an adorable little workout buddy running around in the background and even cheering me on. She's worth watching it just for the cuteness factor. Side note: She's in her underwear because apparently every time we work out, it requires her to strip down to her panties or as she calls it her "workout gear."

I hope you like it, despite my amateur editing skills!

Message me to try it yourself today!

Chicken Tortilla Soup

Mmmm. This has become one of my favorite recipes. We have it at least twice a month. And there are always leftovers, which are even better.

Let me start by saying that this isn't your typical, Mexican Spicy Tortilla soup. I don't do spicy well, so I tweaked it to work for me! I also tweaked the already pretty healthy recipe to be 21 Day Fix approved.

Ingredients:

2-3 Bell Peppers(any color), diced
1 Onion, diced
2 Tomatoes, diced
Garlic, minced
Olive Oil
Chicken Broth(or Vegetable Broth will work too)
1 Rotisserie Chicken, shredded (You can cook your own, but seriously, this is easy and it tastes so good!)
Taco Seasoning(Make your own from the 21 Day Fix Book)
1ish Cup of Organic Corn
Salt & Pepper to taste

Optional:
Corn Tortillas
Advocado
Black Beans
Shredded Cheese
Cilantro

Directions:

1. In large pot heat up Olive oil and garlic for about 1 minute.
2. Add in Onion and Bell Pepper. Heat until soft, 2-3 minutes. (21 Day fix- measure out in your Green containers and add 5 green containers worth.)
3. Add in tomatoes. Heat for 1-2 more minutes. (21 Day fix- Measure out 2 green containers.)
4. Add in frozen corn. (21 day fix- use 2 yellows)
5. Add in broth until pot is about 2/3 full. If I run out of broth, I sometimes add a little extra water.
6. Heat until simmering, then add the Taco Seasoning, salt & pepper to taste.
7. Add in Chicken (21 day fix, 7 red containers)
8. Cook until heated throughout.
9. Enjoy!

For Tortilla Strips:

Take Corn tortillas, spray lightly with butter or coconut oil. Use a pizza cutter to cut into small strips. Spread them out on a pan and cook them in the oven at 350 degrees for about 8 minutes, flipping once halfway through.

If using the 21 Day Fix containers, you used 7 Green, 2 yellows, and 7 red. Divide the soup into 7 separate servings. Each serving will be 1 Green, 1 Red, and barely 1/2 yellow. Add tortilla strips on top to account for a full yellow. Also, add Avocado or cheese accordingly.

**Steve likes beans in his soup, I do not, but you could also measure this out with a yellow container and add.

3 Day Quick Fix + First try at Meal Prep!

Steve and I started the 21 Day Fix on Monday, April 30. I absolutely LOVE the workouts. The fact that they are only 30 minutes makes it SO doable and I give me all knowing that I can just get it done and out of the way. The eating plan is so easy and straight forward. I am in the lowest bracket and there is still a LOT of food for me to eat.

With that being said, I'm going to be honest here. Last weekend I failed. I cheated on the plan and didn't eat so well. Sunday comes around and I could feel it. While I still felt the muscle I have gained from the workouts, I felt bloated from eating a bunch of junk food. Easter candy still lingered in my house and it was just WAY too tempting. So Steve and I decided together to do the optional "3 Day Quick Fix" from the 21 Day Fix to get back on track. We leave for Guam in less than a week and I want to feel confident putting on that bikini. We decided to start it on Monday instead of the few days leading up to the trip.

We meal planned from the guide we were given and headed to the grocery store to stock up. We decided to go ahead and cook everything on Sunday so that we had no excuses. All we had to do was Heat & Eat. This was my first go at Meal Prep and I think we did quite well. The idea of eating the exact same thing every day isn't very appetizing to be, but considering it was only 3 days, I decided that would be the easiest thing to do. Here is what we did:

Meal 1: 7:30AM  - 4 Egg Whites(1 red) with 1 Yellow container of Steel Cut Oats + 1 tsp Coconut oil. I cook the Egg whites in the morning. Steve boiled his ahead of time. We cooked the Oatmeal ahead of time also. I add the 1 tsp Coconut oil to my oats along with 1/2 pack of Stevia. I can't forgot my two cups of coffee! I use 1/2 pack of Stevia with 1 tsp of Almond Milk in each cup.

Meal 2: 10:00 AM - Shakeology + Almond Milk. I count this as my 1 Red and 1 Yellow. Per Autumn's directions, I normally don't count the almond milk during the day, but decided to just for the 3 day quick fix.

Meal 3: 12:30 PM - Cod + Broccoli (1 Red, 1 Green, 1 tsp) We cooked the Cod in the oven with seasoning and lemon juice. Then poured 1 tsp of Coconut oil on top. Broccoli was steamed and seasoned with Italian seasoning. This is probably my least favorite meal of the day because it is pretty bland, but I'm glad I get it over with early and after my ShakeO when I am not as hungry.

I normally have a cup of Green tea with 1/2 pack of Stevia at some point in the afternoon.

Meal 4: 3:00 PM - Grilled Chicken with sautéed Bell Peppers and Onions. (1 Red, 1 Green, 1 tsp). This is my favorite. We don't have a grill in Korea, so we just sautéed ours on the pan with coconut oil and added some southwest seasoning. Same goes for the veggies.

Meal 5: 5:00 PM - Cod with Green Beans. (1 Red, 1 Green, 1 tsp) Cod was cooked the same as above. Green Beans were sautéed in the pan with coconut oil and Italian seasoning.

Meal 6: 7:00 PM - 93% Lean Ground Beef with Bell Peppers and Onion. (1 Red, 1 Green, 1 tsp) The plan called for lean ground turkey, but due to an Embargo, our Commissary doesn't have ANY turkey, so we went with the leanest beef we could find at Costco. It is Australian Grass Fed Beef. The Bell Peppers and Onions were cooked the same as above. We didn't have enough for Wednesday's dinner, so I will either get more at the store or replace them with Roasted Okra.

[ I don't have a picture for this one, because it's my favorite and I've gobbled it down both nights without taking a picture. I'll try for one tomorrow night! ]

I usually have 1 cup of Chamomile tea every night before bed. It helps me relax and keeps me from snacking after dinner.

Wow. Just typing ALL that makes me realize HOW much food it is. It's just ALL healthy food that my body will store the nutrients and burn the rest. I can't wait to see how I feel after these 3 days!

I will keep telling myself... it's only 3 days!

Hello April!

I cannot believe it is April already. Seriously. We are a quarter of the way through with 2015. Time is flying by. I have plenty to be counting down to this year, but I also don't want to see the days of Sadie growing WAY too fast.

A lot has happened in the de Leon household in the past couple of days. Monday, Steve and I both started the 21 Day Fix. Steve is continuing with his PT workouts, but doing the meal plan, while I am doing the FIX workouts and the meal plan. Let me just say. The meal plan is not hard. It's pretty basic. Spread your food out and you'll be fine, but I am already struggling with variety within meals. I think I'll be scouring Pinterest for new recipes this afternoon. To me, it's not about being perfect though, it's just about progress. I try not to get caught up in the small details and just choose healthy foods that fuel my body. The workouts, I LOVE. Seriously, who wouldn't love a workout that provides results in only 30 minutes!

Another big thing, is that Steve got a new car. Well new to us. When we first arrived to Korea, we bought Steve a Dawoo Matiz. We named him Sheldon. The car was cute, functional, and GREAT on gas. We shipped my van over here, so this was the car that Steve drove back and forth to work. Some days, he would get stuck in traffic and being in such a small car (Think Smart Car with 4 doors) was starting to suffocate him. We both decided it was time for an upgrade. Fast forward to last night, and Steve is the proud new owner of a 2013 Mustang. Red is his favorite color and I am just so happy for him to have a car that he loves. Cars are his thing. He's happy, I'm happy. Plus it's super cute that Sadie refers to it as "Mustay-in."

Finally, the most exciting news is that we finally booked a family trip! We are going to Guam in 19 days!! It is about a 4 hour flight from here and we will be spending 5 days at a beautiful family friendly hotel called The Pacific Islands Club(PIC). This will actually be the first big vacation that we take only has a family of three without other family with us. I am so excited to spend a few days lounging by the pool and beach and to really focus on our little family. I just know Sadie is going to have a blast.

Once this trip is over, we will be packing up to move a few hours north, but we'll save that blog for another day.

Well that's our life in a nutshell lately. A lot going on to keep us all sane. I hope to share with you a 21 Day Fix Meal Plan printable soon, so check back!
