Get it Done

I shared this on my Facebook page... but I wanted to share it here too...

Sometimes you just have to what you can to get that workout in.

While it may not be ideal (I prefer to workout while Sadie is at school and Ryder naps)... sometimes this is how the cards fall. I could have used it as an excuse, but I didn't.

You only regret the workout you didn't do.

Country Heat

The NEW Country Heat workout program just launched!!

It is 30 minutes of simple dance moves set to country music. Created by Autumn Calabrese who is also the creator of 21 Day Fix, 21 Day Fix Extreme, and Masters Hammer and Chisel.

The workouts are paired with the awesome portion controlled containers from 21 Day Fix. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

Seriously, I've tried it, and it is SO much fun! I'm unlocking mine on Beachbody on Demand TONIGHT and I can't wait to start the full program in my challenge group on Monday!

If you're interested in checking it out - send me an e-mail at CoachKaciedeLeon  <at> gmail dot com.

Here's just a couple examples of my fellow Beachbody Coaches results!

Pinterest Told Me to Workout

After a weekend Bachelorette party, a girl needs a good run on the treadmill. Or a good workout period.

I love running intervals and this one kicked my butt!

The intervals are nice and short. Which means the high speeds don't last long, but you also don't have long cool downs in-between runs. I definitely worked up quite the sweat with this one. I will be checking out He and She Eat Clean for more workouts and you should too!

Pinterest Told me to Workout

It's been a little bit since I've done a fitness post on here. But I promise you I have been keeping up with my fitness routine. After four weeks of meeting with a trainer, I decided to save the $55 per session and go at it by myself for a while. What better place to turn than to Pinterest?

So I've decided to start a new weekly series called "Pinterest Told me To Workout."

I'm going to take workout ideas we've all seen floating around Pinterest, haunting us right next to those chocolate covered donuts, and try them out.

Then I'll post it on here, triumphs and fails.

This week I tried out a new one. I have always had "love handles" so when I saw a "Lose Your Love Handles" workout I had to try it .

I have to admit, this was a pretty good workout. It did take about 20 minutes to get through it three times. Each section is timed for a minute (or thirty seconds) which makes it hard to push out those last few reps toward the end. My abs weren't sore the next day as I was expecting, but I still felt like they got a good workout. I ran two miles before completing this and felt that I had all around good workout for the day focusing on my abs.

If you are looking for a quick and easy ab only workout, definitely give this one a shot. Otherwise, tone-and-tighten.com seems to have a lot of other great workouts to try out. This one will be going into my fitness book for Ab day.

Resolution: Yoga

Here I am, a quarter of the way through the year, and I am excited to say I have crossed another resolution off my list.

Today, I took my first Yoga class. Technically, it would be my second, but the first was back in college and I barely remember it.

The gym I joined offers multiple Yoga classes and I tried out Vinyasa Yoga today. It was longer than expected at 75 minutes, but very relaxing. I did better stretching wise than I expected of myself, but the breathing was definitely the most challenging for me. I've always had trouble taking long deep breaths through my nose, given a deviated septum. I've been working really hard at concentrating on my breathing when running and I think Yoga might actually be a good way to help me improve.

While I enjoyed the class at the gym, there aren't many times they offer during the week that work with my schedule. Can anyone recommend a good home video for daily yoga lasting no more than 30 minutes or so?

Get Fit

Did you see that little sneak peak I gave you in my last fitness post? There was a notebook sitting on the treadmill. Yes, that's it. The OCD person within me created a fitness notebook. A lot of people write down their workouts at the gym, well I just do it with some crazy organized style:-)

I found these colorfully organized printables from Clean Life and Home. I was able to download and print them instantly.
I also picked up an A5 Arc Notebook. I actually got the Martha Stewart version at Staples.

Note: If you notice, I didn't want to pay $40 for the specific type of hole punch until I knew this was going to work for me. So for the time being, I glued the pages onto the pre-punch pages. I'm now waiting for a good sale/coupon deal to buy the hole punch. The one reason why I got this notebook, is because I like that it can bend all the way around and lay flat, unlike a filofax or 3 ring binder.

So here's a peak inside my "Get Fit" journal.

Can't head to the gym without my journal, water, and Pandora.

The opening page with my personal trainers card.

A little bit of inspiration.

Sorry for the white out... I just might be comfortable enough to share my before and after... one day!
A page to record my measurements and weight loss progress.

Each month has a homemade divider (part of the download) and set of goals.

Monthly calendar. I love planning out my workouts for the week so that each part of my body is getting equal attention.

Even though this section is titled "meal plan," I actually use to write down what I eat. I meal plan on our kitchen calendar. I like that I don't have to count calories, but I still can hold myself accountable to what I eat.

Each workout is logged on its own page. I love that I am able to keep track of the workouts my trainer has me do, so that I can do them in the future on my own.

The final tab is titled "notes" but I use it for misc. I place different workouts in here, as well as tips from my personal trainer.

So there you have it.  What do you think?

Do you track your fitness habits? How do you write it all down?

I workout

I met with my personal trainer for our first session on Tuesday and I had a great workout! I've never sweat so much from doing strength training.  I woke up sore the next day, but I love that feeling.

I've also been trying to do more fat burning intervals. I've done this one twice now and really like it.

The first time was tough. Really tough. But once I realized I should take everything down one notch since my normal running speed is between 5.5-6, I was able to actually complete it while still getting a great workout in.

Try it and tell me how it worked for you!

Mommy Fitness

So I've hinted a couple times now that I bit the bullet and joined a gym. I'm a military wife. We live on base. Why wouldn't I just work out here? Because this particular base doesn't offer childcare while working out. And as a stay at home mom... well it's kind of needed. In Savannah, I loved my Stroller Strong Mom group. I miss them dearly, it makes me tear up a little thinking about it.

Anyway... a fellow Army wife/mom mentioned a gym not far from post. One Sunday, our little family of three hopped in the car and toured the gym. We signed up on the spot. As of March 2, we have been members of American Family Fitness. They offer a "Kid Zone" for childcare while I work out, attend a class, take a swim, or hit the tanning bed(haha yeah right). It is a great space and everyone that works there is so friendly.

Not only am I able to work out, but they offer the swim lessons I mentioned Sadie has been taking. You also get a free consultation with a personal trainer when you join. I have always wanted a personal trainer. Seriously. Who hash't? The hubby came home one night last week and surprised me with four lessons with my trainer. I am super excited (and a little nervous) to start on Tuesday!

So I hope you are as excited as I am to add a few fitness posts to this blog. Enjoy the journey with me!

I have no affiliation with American Family Fitness. In fact, they have no idea I wrote this blog. However, I am a loyal customer and this is my honest opinion.
