Adventures of Twinkle: Day 24

Twinkle wanted to make sure to leave some kisses on her last morning here with Sadie. We sure are going to miss Twinkle around here! But we look forward to all the fun things she will bring next year!!

Tonight, Sadie got to hold Twinkle and say Goodbye on her last night here!

Adventures of Twinkle: Day 23

Twinkle decided to leave Sadie a note just where she would see it! Obviously, Sadie can't read, but I am hoping she gets the concept of the Elf leaving something for her.

" Merry Christmas! Two days left! <3 Twinkle* "

Adventures of Twinkle: Day 22

Only 2 more days until Twinkle heads back to the North Pole to help Santa! Twinkle was playing with Sadie's toys last night and got a little caught up!

Noticing Twinkle.

Going to Twinkle

Distracted by toys.

I was in the kitchen cleaning up and it got quiet. I looked in the living room to see what Sadie was doing and found this:

She had knocked Twinkle down and was playing with her!! Let's hope she still has some magic left tonight!

Special Ornaments

We have a few special ornaments from each year since we began our life together. Here are some of our favorites.

This is Sadie's ornament from her very first Christmas.

These little shoes were on top of the cake the Hospital brought to us at Sadie's Birth.

We got this ornament the first year we had Tank.

This is our Ornament from our first Christmas in our First home together.

This was give not us by my grandparents after our wedding.

I bought this ornament after Steve's first deployment.

Steve brought this ornament back from his second deployment last year.

This is Sadie's footprint from last Christmas.

This is Sadie's handprint ornament from this Christmas. Read hear about how to create it. And a few others she painted below.

And this year's new ornament to remind us that it was the Three of us celebrating in Savannah.

Adventures of Twinkle: Day 21

Twinkle decide to play with some Christmas decorations.

If you notice above, as soon as Sadie saw the beads she reached for them and yanked Twinkle down.

Fortunately, Twinkle was never touched by Sadie and kept her magic!

Sadie had Waffles and Blueberries for Breakfast this morning. Next thing I know, I look over and she grabbed the plate and was licking the syrup off it!

Adventures of Twinkle: Day 20

Twinkle may have gotten into the presents a little.

Last night, Santa came through on neighborhood. The fire department in the area does this and Sadie LOVED it.

Killing time waiting for Santa.

Still waiting... (notice the wardrobe change to PJs because he took so long)

She hears the sirens.

Santa!

Salt Dough Ornaments

When I saw these adorable Salt Dough Ornaments over at Simple Suburbia, I knew I had to do them with Sadie! Check out her blog for the directions.  I thought Sadie would not want anything to do with them, but she actually loved imprinting her hand. We also made a fun candy cane and star.

After they baked for 3 hours, I let them cool overnight. The next day, I painted the Santa face and Sadie got to use a sponge brush to paint the star and candy cane. I got out yellow for the star and red for the candy not even thinking what they would look like when she mixed the two. But I love them and Sadie had such fun painting, she was actually upset when it was over!

Next I picked up some red ribbon at the store, strung them up, and we have our first homemade ornaments!
